Bellclair is a racially mixed community in New Jersey. But, Bellclair has a past. A violent past, marked by the brutal lynching of Devin McCall in 1967 for killing Baby Rose. He was later cleared.

It was the last lynching in New Jersey.

And the last murder in Bellclair.

Until today, when the body of a dead woman is found.

The story follows HUD, the editor of the town paper, The Bellclair Times, as he finds a link between the killing of Baby Rose in 1967 and the dead woman found today.
